Crock Pot Baked Beans

Serves 4-6

This authentic recipe blends molasses and brown sugar in a Crock Pot slow cooker to create this excellent side dish. I will warn you now, this recipe takes time but little effort, and it is worth it so sit back and let the Crock Pot do the work.


  • 4 cups dried navy beans
  • 1large chopped onion
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of spicy mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 9 cups of water

Here's how...

  1. Place the navy beans and the 9 cups of water into the Crock Pot Slow Cooker.
  2. Cook on the high setting for two hours. Turn off the heat and let the beans sit for 12-24 hours.
  3. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for 10-12 hours.

Substitute pinto beans for the navy beans for a different hometown flavor.
